Not surprisingly, Nike decided that this could have been the right moment to grace us with a novel Air Force 1. At Dope, we have been advocates for White Forces since day one, and in 2022, we were buzzed by the 40th anniversary of the bestseller silhouette. Since then, the never-ending love story between sneaker heads and the silhouette has been stronger than ever. The Air Force 1 ’07 Fresh is visually loyal to the original version of the shoe. No frills, patches, or attachments. And that’s exactly why they said that the essential is invisible to the eye.
The Fresh iteration sees an upgrade to the regular version in all its components. The upper is made of the smoothest premium leather and held together by denser stitching, giving the upper edges a refined look. Flat laces are made from the thickest cotton grain, which gives more substance to the instep part. The silver lace tab is removed, following an integrality vision to keep the shoe all-white with no elements of distraction. The inside is a joy for sneaker purists. The full leather insole has a special allure, similar to pro players’ cleats versions. The tongue inside bears the claim ‘easy to clean, breathable, soft leather’. Fair enough. Embroideries are out; embossing is in. So much so that the Nike branding on the tongue and heel is rendered through embossing finishing, highlighting the leather quality. No more crease nightmares.
